Author’s of the First Peoples Principles of Learning, the First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) was founded in 1922 when participants at a First Nation education conference decided that what was needed to improve the quality of First Nation education was a collective controlled by First Nations focused on achieving improved education for all First Nations’ students, working foremost at the provincial level in BC-though they partner with federal and other provincial agencies. Hear more about them, and their frequent partner, the First Nation Schools Association (FNSA), in the video below.
